Evian is best known as a still water, and the sparkling bottling keeps the same Alpine source above Évian-les-Bains. Rain and snowmelt filter for roughly fifteen years through glacial sand and rock before they reach the spring.

Total dissolved solids come to 357 mg/L, with 80 mg/L of calcium, 26 mg/L of magnesium, 360 mg/L of bicarbonate and very little sodium, at a pH of 7.2.
